Attention Members of Mona Lisa and MoonPie -
Parade Day is almost here and we need to let you know about the plans in place for the parade and the Balls. There will be a Mini-Krewe Captains meeting this Wed., Feb. 1 at 6:15 p.m. at Ali Baba's Cafe on the corner of First and Erlanger Streets. Each mini-krewe must have at least one representative at the meeting to collect information about our parade night plans and wristbands for all paid members. The meeting should not last more than 20-30 minutes but is extremely important.
* Feb. 1st is the deadline to sign up for memberships and to order moonpies. Membership signups and moonpie orders will be taken from 6 pm. to 8 p.m. at Ali Baba's Cafe. Our group order will go in the next morning.
*MoonPie distribution to the membership will be at Floorworks and Blinds on Johnny Smith Blvd., off of Hwy 11, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 7. All moonpies must be picked up at that time.
* The parade is still in need of flambeaux carriers. We will have flambeaux poles and harnesse on hand for anyone wishing to try one out. It is only $25 for a flambeaux membership and that includes entry into the ball.
* Lastly, Ali Baba's Cafe, owned by our own King Fayez Mustafa, will be open for dinner during the meeting and afterwards. Anyone wishing to bring a bottle of wine to have with their dinner can do so with a corkage fee of $6.
